There were some high-scoring games in the North Northumberland League, with some closer than others.
In Division One, Acklington Athletic lost 4-3 to Rothbury. Goalless at half time, the game came to life as Chris McGuilvery and Paul Christianson gave Acklington a two goal lead.

A Charity Christingle service is going to be held a little later this year -- in February.
Each year, St Michael's Church, Alnwick, has a Christingle Service in aid of the Children's Society. In the past this has been held on Christmas Eve and has been attended by up to 400 people. Many of them are children who enjoy receiving a Christingle to hold while they form a 'circle of light' and sing.
This year, the church is changing the arrangements. On Christmas Eve at 4.30pm there will be a Crib Service, and the Christingle will take place early next year, at 5pm on Sunday February 1.
A red squirrel which bit the hand that fed it has returned to the wild.
The Journal has previously reported on the tale of Elvis the Squirrel, named because of his broken pelvis, who was rescued by Ernie Gordon.

Calls for improvements to an A1 crossing in Northumberland where three people were killed were increased last night following another accident in the same place.
Three cars were involved in the crash at the intersection at Guyzance, at just before 1pm yesterday.

The accident came just two days after Alnwick District Council agreed to ask the Highways Agency to look at improving the crossing, where pensioners Harold and May Fox, 76 and 71, of nearby Swarland, and driver Stanley Loftus, 82, of Vale House, Jesmond, Newcastle, died in a crash last September.

"These matrons will make sure we care for patients in the way they want to be cared for. They will drive up standards by considering existing practice and looking for ways to improve this."
