A Northumberland woman who overcame cancer to re-open her animal sanctuary last night spoke of her astonishment at being included in the New Year Honours list.
Lisa Bolton, 75, who runs the Wildlife in Need centre at Chatton, has been named an MBE for services to animal welfare.
