Doxford Hall welcomes local food workshop

Posted by The Journal on Oct 31, 08 01:09 PM in News

TOURISTS are increasingly keen to sample locally produced food when holidaying in the UK.

Now the Made in Northumberland project has organised a special one-day workshop at Doxford Hall, near Ellingham, on November 4, aimed at putting the county firmly on the food tourism map.

The food tourism, marketing and PR event is the first of its kind in the region, and hopes to encourage businesses to use more local produce.

Speakers at this free-to-attend seminar include travel journalist Paul Gogarty, Journal food columnist Bill Oldfield, of Oldfield Restaurants, and Ian Byatt, of Moor House Farm Shop, Stannington, and chair of the North East branch of the National Farmers' Retail and Markets Association.
