The Alnwick Garden is inviting everyone to the launch of its winter programme of events next month.
The Duchess of Northumberland will be launching the event on Friday November 4 at 5pm, when The Garden will be full of light, with seasonal food and drink being served. The lights will form a major part of the visitor experience until the New Year, where visitors will be able to walk through The Garden, enjoying the variety of lighting that will show it in a new way.
The Garden will be open everyday 10am-4pm throughout November and December, with late opening for the evening lights on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 4pm-7pm from November 10 to December 31.
Northumbria Police are running a series of online meetings where Alnwick, Rothbury and Coquetdale residents can put questions to their local beat bobby.
The meetings are a way for the public to speak to officers from the comfort of their own homes and discuss any issues which affect them or their local area.
There is one happening on Thursday 23rd June from 6pm- 8pm.

On Saturday 4th June 2011, the North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team are happy to be organising the 17th Alwinton Round. Based in and around Alwinton, there will be three walks to suit all abilities ranging from a 6 mile 'family walk' to the 20 mile walk for the more experienced.
Big 20 mile walk and Long 15 mile walk begin at 10am from Alwinton village, registration in the Rose and Thistle pub.
Family 6 mile walk starts between 11am and 1.30pm.

Pack your picnic and party spirit and prepare to boogie as Jools Holland returns to Northumberland for an open-air concert in the grounds of Alnwick Castle.
The boogie-woogie maestro's previous gigs there have proved hugely popular, and he's back this Saturday accompanied by his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra.
He's also joined by special guests Alison Moyet, Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall, combining for a night of first-class entertainment lasting from dusk until late in the lovely setting of The Pastures, against the majestic backdrop of the castle.
There will be a car boot sale at Alnwick Garden in aid of the Alnwick Garden Trust.
It takes place on Sunday July 11 in the main car park of the Garden, between 9am and 12 noon.
Buyers entry is ã1 or a selling pitch for the day is ã10, and all proceeds from entry fees will go to community projects within The Alnwick Garden for children, adults, schools and community groups.

Art students will exhibit their botanical paintings at Alnwick Garden.
A collection of 120 paintings produced by adult students in botanical art classes will go on display.
The paintings feature striking images of plants, flowers, fruit and vegetables and were painted by students of the Workers' Educational Association.
Author David Haffey will be signing copy of his new guidebook for walkers this weekend.
Hexham-based writer David will meet and greet readers as he promotes his new book 'Heritage Walks in North Northumberland' which maps 10 circular walks around the idyllic corner of the county.
He will be signing copies of the book at Alnwick Tourist Information Centre, on The Shambles, this Saturday between 10.30am and 1pm.
Traditional music fans are invited to enjoy an evening of choral and organ music.
Musical director Bryan Gardener will present The Belford Singers at St James's United Reformed Church, in Alnwick, on Saturday.

An afternoon of fine art and fine wine will be hosted in Northumberland to support the newly formed Alnwick Chamber of Trade.
Local artist Charles Evans, pictured, who has his own show on Discovery TV on Sky, will be setting up his canvass at the country retreat The Cook and Barker, Newton-on-the-Moor, Morpeth, to hold a workshop for budding artists.

Cyclists are gearing up for the Great North Bike Ride.
It starts from Seahouses at 9am on August 29 and follows an estimated 50 miles along the scenic coastline down to Tynemouth Priory.
